Report on Our First Meeting (5/13/08)
We had a very successful first meeting on Tuesday. Thanks to everyone who came! For those who missed it -
- we heard one speech and one evaluation
- several people spoke during the impromptu speaking segment (Table Topics)
- we answered questions and set up the next meeting
- we ate all the food!
- 37 GMU people came for the meeting (plus the 4 of us running it)
- 22 people indicated they DEFINITELY want to join NOW (actually, next week)
- 3 people agreed to give their Ice Breaker (Speech # 1) at meeting #2
- since Tuesday, 3-4 more of you have indicated you wish to join NOW
A new club often takes several weeks or even months to get the 20 members needed to make an official club. We will likely have that many by our next meeting. GMU rocks!
